Gábor, the famous and respected medical professor of the luxury sanatorium, is engaged to Maria, his assistant. Ákos, a landowner wounded in a gentlemen's affair, recovering in the sanatorium, seduces Mária. The girl gives her engagement-ring back to Gábor and becomes the fiancée of Ákos. War intervenes. Ákos serves at the front, while Gábor and Mária work on the hospital train. Ákos is soon on the train, he is seriously injured. Gábor operates his competitor on the running train, in the light of headlamps, amidst the attack of the air force of the enemy and he saves his life.
