The young woman of a country joiner cannot have a baby. A very dangerous operation, though, might help. Piroska, the joiner's long-time love is back in the village. She now is the mother of a baby child. The childless young woman is happy to take care of the baby while the mother is at work. An old fisherman, now a widow, and the young landowner both take a liking to the nice-looking girl, who has no husband. However, the husband's passion also seems to be reborn. The jealous young woman finally decides to undergo the dangerous operation when she learns that her husband is the father of Piroska's baby. The man, suffering from remorse, runs after her into the hospital, preventing the dangerous operation from being performed on her. Piroska decides to get out of the way, leaving her child to be looked after by the married couple, and marries the fisherman. (texto oficial de la distribuidora)
