It is Kolozsvár in 1823. Mrs. Déry is to play there. Bartha Ákos, although half-engaged, as it were, to Éva, the governor's daughter, falls in love with the actress, who also likes the handsome gallant. Ákos wants to marry Mrs.Déry, but his father wouldn't hear of this marriage. In the meantime, Mrs. Déry is reminded by Szentpétery, her long-time admirer, of the profession she has chosen to devote her life to. The woman, although preferring a simple woman's life and marital happiness, finally decides to go on with her profession, which is more difficult, but, at the same time, more elevating. She, therefore, decides not to get in the way of the young people's happiness. (texto oficial de la distribuidora)
