Sinopsis(1)

inglés I quite like biopics, but Egon Schiele: Death and the Maiden is not one of the better ones. Despite Egon Schiele's fame for painting bold nudes, there was no need for so much nudity in the film, which is completely pointless in places. The performances of all the actors are more or less standard. Actually, I can't point out anything special about it, but it is watchable. (55%) ()

inglés Schiele's subject matter is somehow not saturated in cinema, so I very much welcome the new biography. It’s clear, emotional, and inspiring. And it beautifully winks at the intermingling of Schiele and Klimt. Now I can happily return to Herbert Vesely's older film Egon Schiele: Excess and Punishment. I am looking forward to it, for I have been emboldened by this fresco. ()

inglés The portrait itself is not groundbreaking, it's not some new biopic that's completely innovative. It's simply a portrait of an interesting, bohemian, troubled, but incredibly talented artist who didn't have enough time to draw more things. But he left a lot behind. And I simply have to give extra points for Krumlov. ()
