En 1966, Rubin Hurricane Carter sueña con convertirse en campeón de boxeo. Una noche, en un bar, su vida da un vuelco: Estalla un tiroteo y Rubin Carter se encuentra acusado injustamente de un triple homicidio. Condenado a cadena perpetua, decide canalizar su frustración y desesperación dando a conocer, desde su celda, su historia al mundo. A pesar de la publicación de su autobiografía, Carter continúa entre rejas. Varios años más tarde, un adolescente afroamericano, convencido de la inocencia de Carter, contacta por carta con él y pone en marcha una campaña para conseguir su libertad. (Disney España)
