Berlín. Una noche, Michael recibe una llamada: su padre, con el que nunca tuvo una buena relación, acaba de morir. Parte a su funeral, en el remoto paraje noruego donde éste vivía, y aprovecha la oportunidad para hacer una excursión con su hijo Luis, de 14 años. El adolescente, que claramente preferiría estar en cualquier otra parte, vive con su madre y apenas ha recibido atenciones de Michael. Empieza así una road movie por el imponente paisaje noruego, en el que las heridas del pasado se mezclan con la angustia por el futuro, quizás una oportunidad única de encuentro entre padre e hijo. I was originally going to give this film a four-star review, but when I read the reviews below I realized that three would be just about enough. The movie had such a satisfying premise that it could have incited very different emotions from those it did… and that the entire thing was rescued by the camera taking shots of the extremely beautiful countryside? That sure as hell isn’t enough. The Russian movie The Return is a whole level better.
