Sinopsis(1)

This is very mediocre overall. There are many problematic statements, no summary of Weimar film, and no epilogue on the film after the post-war period. Many claims are refuted in the very next sentences, and there’s over-interpretation everywhere you look. This is only suitable for beginners, who will not notice anything in particular, but will only retain in their memory the impression of "an interesting chapter in the history of German cinema," as even the choice of the people most often discussed in the film is questionable. There were allegedly no genres and suddenly, we see sci-fi, noir, melodrama, musicals, comedies, drama, action... Lucky Kids wasn’t Lilian Harvey’s last film in German cinema before going to Hollywood, because she was back a year later from a failed attempt to become a star at 20th Century Fox in two seasons in 1933/1935. This commentary could be a long list of errors, but times have changed, and today you can buy and study a number of the films cited for yourself. And you don't just have to fixate on Ingrid Bergman's "fling" in The Four Companions. ()
