Searching for Padre Pio

The new documentary was made for the BOATS (Based on A True Story) TV series. In the film, Abel Ferrara follows a spiritual journey to a place which determined the life and work of one of the most controversial figures of the Catholic Church of the 20th century, Padre Pio from Pietrelcina. The Italian Franciscan priest and mystic experienced stigmata and his purported miracles were investigated by Church authorities. (Febiofest)
