The term puberty tends to be used in everyday conversation as a synonym for unpredictable, illogical and often silly behaviour. But how is it perceived from the perspective of the biochemical processes taking place in adolescents' bodies? Is there a connection between irrationality and changes in teenagers' hormone levels? And can an adolescent be forced into demonstrating responsible behaviour which is automatically expected from adults? These are the questions asked by scientists researching this specific stage of human development. The findings they present are fascinating. During puberty, for instance, the human brain completely reconfigures itself. This German co-production documentary film places not scientists but adolescents them- selves into the leading roles, and makes clear that puberty is far more complicated than one might think.
