The film portrays Munich the way it is, and Munich the way it could be; of course, it is also a film about film-making, as usual. Though Lemke still focuses on young people’s sexual neuroses, this work is also a melancholic tribute to old age as yet unseen in Lemke’s work. “Everybody wants to be someone else”, he says, – “so do I: I would also prefer to be the film rather than its director.” (Viennale)
