Dakota Fanning very realistically portrays an autistic girl, but the storyline doesn’t differ from every typical road movie. Three stars are enough for this kind of a film. ()
I was annoyed by how Toni Collette and Alice Eve’s acting skills were put to waste. With this pair of actresses, the creators could have easily taken it to a whole other level. This way, the whole story was solely based on Dakota Fanning’s excellent performance, without any other storylines, which I think was a shame. Since the protagonist of the film was socially impaired, I wiggled my ears out of joy and added an extra star, as the theme is close to my heart. ()
