Cristina y Tudor Ionescu han formado una familia feliz con sus dos hijos, Maria e Ilie. Él trabaja para una compañía telefónica y ella es contable. Ambos están en la treintena y viven en un bonito apartamento en una ciudad rumana. Su vida es la de una pareja normal con sus hijos. Pero una mañana de domingo, cuando Tudor lleva a sus hijos al parque, Maria desaparece. Sus vidas cambian abruptamente para siempre. (Barton Films)

A very difficult movie, which definitely isn’t for everyone. Quite the opposite. A blockbuster viewer, for example, would probably die of boredom because the endless shots could be easily shortened by an hour and the film wouldn’t have to be 152 minutes long at all. But on the other hand, it is in the long shots where the power lies and it turns the movie into a unique experience, which isn’t worth 5 stars in my books, but on the other hand, I don’t claim there’s nothing special about it. The character of the dad is, in the case of this movie, Oscar-worthy. The performance he gave is unparalleled in the movie industry.
