Haruto spends his days working in the lost and found office of his local train station. One day, news arrives that his mother, who abandoned him as a child, has died at Hoshigaoka Wonderland, an amusement park Haruto had once visited with her. She has supposedly committed suicide by jumping off the Ferris wheel. But Haruto harbours suspicions about the circumstances of her death. He then meets Nanami, the daughter of his mother's "other" family, and through their conversations, he discovers that his memories are faulty and that what he believed to have happened are quite wide of the facts. The death of his mother and the reprecussions begin to unlock repressed memories of the past. Against the town's symbol, Wonderland, a mystery-laden human drama unfolds, fusing past and present as it depicts the maturation of a troubled son, Haruto, and the plight of family members left behind, all struggling to cope with memories lost and found.
