Thanks to The Little Witch, we can revisit Otfried Preußler's most beloved fairy tale books. Karoline Herfurth is amazingly cute, cheerful, playful, and brave. I highly recommend it, especially where the unnecessarily restrictive impression has taken hold, namely the idea that they don't know how to tell fairy tales in German-speaking countries. ()
An enjoyable German fairy-tale that will not amaze you, nor will it offend you. The plot passes by effortlessly and you don’t get bored during the hundred minutes. The cast was generally well chosen – the cute Karoline Herfurth vs. the slick Suzanne von Borsody – and I must admit that technically the film was also decent. A likeable respite, ranging between three and four stars, which fortunately doesn't rely on cheap and infantile humour, thus distancing itself from most genre films of recent years. ()
