In the Czech Republic, you can barely take a step without treading on a piece of history. The remains of old times are often hidden in the most innocent places. Most people probably do not consider what lies under their homes, gardens, or fields. However, some may suspect and set out with metal detectors chasing their old childhood dream of becoming an archaeologist. At what first appears to be forest is discovered to be a cemetery; the neighbour’s yard was a settlement a thousand years ago; the centre of Prague hides millions of treasures.
