Champion is a story of love, hope and life itself which is based on a true story of Horse Race Champion Bold Pilot, the jockey Halis Karataş, Bold’ Pilot’s owner Özdemir Atman ve Bold Pilot’s favorite human being Begüm Atman. Adventures of Halis Karataş who travelled to İstanbul from a small village of Sivas with high hopes of being a jockey begins when he meets Bold Pilot. But the point he reaches at the end of this journey is above all his expectations: they have both become legends. They embark upon the journey to cling a person they both love to life; Begüm. But something striking happens: they become the silver lining of the whole society. The mid 90’s. People in Turkey are suffocated with political instability, monetary depreciation and despair. In those years when all hope was lost, people deeply bonded with Bold Pilot and Halis Karataş who won every race coming from the last place. Because people have been seeing themselves at the point where this horse and jockey are for a long time: at the back. But that did not mean that they cannot win.
