Sex Education (2019)

inglés I'm writing my review after only two seasons, as I have no desire to watch the third one. The first season was quite okay. I had a few issues with it, but no big deal. When watching the second season, I realized that the series was intended for a completely different target audience, which I respect and I'll stop watching it before I disappoint all those satisfied viewers by spoiling the average rating. 4*- ()

Season 1 (2019) (S01)

inglés Although the season was very poor in terms of humor at times, there were some really witty scenes, as well, and I really liked the more dramatic shades of the story. Which is to say I was actually quite satisfied, and I will definitely watch the next season. ()

Episode 1 (2019) (S01E01)

inglés From the very beginning, it was clear to me that I would have to be in the mood to watch this series so that I wouldn't ruin it with a low rating. But today turned out quite well for me, my mood was excellent, and even though the first episode seemed a bit uncertain to me, I decided to give it three stars. I added the fourth star for the British English, which, unlike the American one, seems much sexier to me. ()

Episode 2 (2019) (S01E02)

inglés This time, I stayed with four stars, even though the creators strongly disappointed me with collective vomiting. I would have expected these scenes more in some American, student comedy along with drinking beer upside down, but luckily the situation was saved by the grandmother from the Rapid Deployment Unit, it was a tough moment. Anyway, it was the last time I slightly added to the rating of the series, next time I will be tough. ()

Episode 3 (2019) (S01E03)

inglés Hmm, just when I was ready to harshly criticize the episode, the creators showed that they can really come up with a quality script. True, there wasn't as much humor (but what was there, was of higher quality), but I did witness some decent dramatic moments, where unnecessary pathos was avoided (even though the possibility was there). ()

Episode 4 (2019) (S01E04)

inglés After the previous, higher-quality episode, the fourth episode slipped back into average (actually slightly above average). I have a feeling that I would enjoy it more if the plot focused more on those almost therapeutic sessions and less on cheap jokes. But at least I found my favorite character, Lily is a demon! ()

Episode 5 (2019) (S01E05)

inglés I was disappointed by the fifth episode. Otis's best friend is gay, cool, I didn't mind. Otis advised lesbians, okay, why not. But now Jackson's mothers have been added, and the subsequent proud fight of women against injustice, and I realized that the plot was becoming too politically correct for me. I was hoping that the theme of the series would guarantee that it wouldn't be so conventional, but apparently, the courage was lacking for that. ()

Episode 6 (2019) (S01E06)

inglés The creators reminded me of my father, James Purefoy is, in my opinion, the best choice for this type of character. I will believe that bastard anytime and without any problems. However, overall, the episode did not exceed the average level, so I am giving only four stars for the duo of Remi Milburn and Lily Iglehart. 4*. ()

Episode 7 (2019) (S01E07)

inglés The seventh episode became one of the two best episodes for me in the first season. It didn't bring a excessive amount of infantile humor and managed to play on a serious note without depressing me with unnecessary pathos. I would just skip those church dances and songs, it was like at Prince Harry's wedding and I don't mean it as a compliment. ()

Episode 8 (2019) (S01E08)

inglés It was close, and the eighth episode would have ranked among the top three episodes of the series. But then strange things started to happen, another character appeared, confirming my suspicion that even though supposedly only 4% of people are homosexual in reality, in movies and series it's more like 40%. Moreover, the sweater return scene was so ridiculously cliché that I couldn't give it a higher rating. ()

Season 2 (2020) (S02)

inglés After the first season, I was generally satisfied. After the second one, it’s no longer the case. Sure, gays are obviously trending at the moment, but even if I dropped a hundred dollar bill in this town, I would rather leave it lying on the ground, there are more important things than money. I’m sure Aimee would understand me. I was also annoyed by the sometimes lame jokes, Ola and not enough Lily. ()

Episode 1 (2020) (S02E01)

inglés The first episode of the second season didn't appeal to me twice, there was a lot of infantile humor again. If the series is intended more for teenagers, I'm not sure if these jokes will be a bit weak for them. Anyway, I have to highlight Ben Kingsley's performance as Oly. 3* ()

Episode 2 (2020) (S02E02)

inglés With the second episode came a slight improvement, the creators didn't focus as much on constant standing and put more into the character development of Jean Milburn, who I really enjoy. Similarly, Lily Iglehart got more space, but it still wasn't enough. My favorite alien woman could comment on the events more often. ()

Episode 3 (2020) (S02E03)

inglés Hmm, it seems that the creators have found their standard, it's just a shame that it's a little low. I still think it's a promising theme that could be explored much more if it wasn't for the immature humor. The character Maeve brings a breath of drama to the story, so I'll see where it leads. ()

Episode 4 (2020) (S02E04)

inglés The plot once again brought a slight improvement, but not one that would be worth throwing a star for. The series traditionally increases the density of the homosexual population from four to forty percent, but oh well. You can call me shallow scum, but if I had to choose between Maeve and Ola, I wouldn't hesitate for a second. And yet, I fully acknowledge that Ola may have a range of great qualities, but I've always been more attracted to women. ()

Episode 5 (2020) (S02E05)

inglés I clearly underestimated the situation with those forty percent, they are no longer in the minority. The plot of the fifth episode was not really impressive, the main "hero" chose an ugly boy instead of a nice girl and overall, there were too many boys for my taste. So, the reason for the third piece was undoubtedly James Purefoy's contribution, he rarely disappoints me. ()

Episode 6 (2020) (S02E06)

inglés With each subsequent episode, the second season is starting to bother me quite a bit. Actually, I don't even know the name of this town, but it's clear to me that there is no population explosion happening here. This politically correct ass-kissing (sometimes literal) really no longer interests me, but there are only two episodes left, so I have to endure... ()

Episode 7 (2020) (S02E07)

inglés I had to slightly increase the rating, searching for at least one thing that could be common to the local girls' collective, really amused me. In order for it to be a solid three stars, there should not be any dances and singing in the church and the only atheist should not be politically correct in every aspect. 3* ()

Episode 8 (2020) (S02E08)

inglés Romeo and Juliet in Lily's direction - that musical was perfect, and I don't even like musicals. That star is for it. Otherwise, it was a complete disaster for me. The creators decided to use all sorts of clichés, the villains had a change of heart, and the twist for the third season was clearly the ending with the intervention of a cunning alien. And I ask myself: "Why is it always us?" Sure, we handicapped people are cunning, no doubt about that, but to exploit it so blatantly... ()
