Sinopsis(1)

Yakup and Semsa and their children are an Assyrian family living in Berlin. One day a call came from Turkey. A body had been discovered which could possibly be Mikhael’s. They took with them their granddaughter Nardin and set off for Mardin. They visited their home. For Yakup, the most difficult part was not finding the door of the house in place. To find the door, Yakup looks for Remzi, who gathered and sold unclaimed goods. So Yakup and his grandaughter Nardin head off on the journey with Remzi. Yakup had built the door together with his son Mikhael. So this door represented everything he had lost – his son, his home, his confidence. At first Nardin finds her grandfather’s attitude as illogical, but through the journey she is witness to a number of stories and will ultimately struggle along with her grandfather to find the door.
