El halloween de Hubie

Adam Sandler and perhaps the worst movie of his career. And he clearly doesn't care. But the worst thing about this story of a moron who gets on everyone's nerves by trying to ensure safety during Halloween is his apparent unwillingness to try to do anything. Just a blathering Sandler, a few cameos from his buddies, and another night of Netflix killed. Even Sandler himself can't enjoy doing this anymore. (13.10.2020)

Sandler does these things on autopilot. He once again plays a simple, bullied loser who in the end hooks up with the hottest chick in town and finds happiness. This time it happens at Halloween and it’s just as stupidly funny as always. Nevertheless, Hubie had a surprise in store. The final twist works pretty well, just like mom’s T-shirts and the excellent Buscemi. Good for a Netflix movie. (11.10.2020)

It's hard to complain about the fact that it's terrible crap when I was expecting terrible crap. I'm rather disappointed anyway, because the film had much more potential and could have been funnier if it had been less awkward and if Adam Sandler didn't think that a character with a speech (and brain) impediment would be funny. The king of Hubie Halloween for me is Steve Buscemi - thanks to him, thanks to the main teenage protagonists and thanks to Maya Rudolph, at least it was worth something. (08.10.2020)

Těšil jsem se na ideální film na dnešní odporné říjnové počasí. A rozhodně námět a potenciál výtečný, nicméně provedení hrůza a děs, to jsem si uvědomil po patnácti minutách. Nelze upřít strašidelnou atmosféru, u níž ale cítíme, že má všechno humorný podtext. Scénář se ale fakt bohužel nepovedl, trouba Hubie nemůže být srovnáván s postavami v dřívějších sandlerovák. Je to velká škoda, neboť Sandlerova herecká parta je stále přítomna a evidentně se s humornými nápady nevyčerpali, avšak chce to ubrat na nechutnosti a přidat na inteligentnosti a vytříbenosti děje. Tak třeba zase někdy příště. Esperaba una película ideal para el repugnante clima de octubre de hoy. Y definitivamente la premisa y el potencial son excelentes, sin embargo, la ejecución es horrible y aterradora, me di cuenta de eso después de quince minutos. No se puede negar la atmósfera espeluznante, pero sentimos que todo tiene un subtexto humorístico. Desafortunadamente, el guion realmente no fue exitoso, el personaje de Hubie no puede compararse con los personajes de las películas anteriores de Sandler. Es una gran lástima, ya que el equipo de actores de Sandler todavía está presente y claramente no se han agotado las ideas humorísticas, pero es necesario reducir la repugnancia y agregar inteligencia y sofisticación a la trama.
