Pour la Cause

Karim, a Palestinian man and Sirine, a French woman cross the Morocco-Algeria border to join their band in Oran. The absurdity of border rules leaves them banned trapped on a bridge linking between the two countries. With an interesting script, combines the situation’s difficulty and humour that allows the general public to relate, veteran director Hassan Benjelloun gives his take on the borders between Arab countries, and how rigid laws can lead to situations that may appear odd. Despite the importance of the topic, the humorous film has not been forgotten to showcase the good side within human souls. (Cairo International Film Festival)
