La exitosa diseñadora Marie (Romy Schneider), madre de un adolescente y divorciada, está en un momento crucial de su vida. Ha terminado la relación que tenía con su amante, ha tenido un aborto recientemente y quiere volver con su exmarido aunque este tenga una fuerte relación con una mujer mucho más joven que él. A todo esto hay que sumarle que alrededor de Marie también están ocurriendo otros problemas sentimentales que están llevando a sus amistades a inesperadas y dolorosas situaciones. En 1978 obtuvo el Premio César a Mejor actriz (Romy Schneider) y 11 nominaciones incluyendo a Mejor película, en 1979 fue nominada al Oscar a Mejor película de habla no inglesa. The almost 40-year-old French woman played by Schneider begins her story with a decision to have an abortion and ends with a new pregnancy. It’s with another man, but she stays single and eventually keeps the other child. In between, only the mundane things appropriate to this generation in the garb of the late 1970s take place. I'm not one of those people who look to movies for a picture of someone else's life for my own pleasure, let alone a reflection of reality. Therefore, the film gained an interesting context given the fact that Romy was a controversial abortion advocate in real life. However, nominations for various awards don’t mean everything.
