En la superpoblada y frenética ciudad de Ho Chi Minh -antigua Saigón-, un joven adolescente, conductor de un ciclomotor que transporta a los turistas a través de las calles, trata de ganarse la vida para mantener a sus dos hermanas y a su anciano abuelo. When you know nothing about Vietnamese cinema, it's quite nice to let yourself be surprised, especially when it's in a positive direction. The film "Cyclo" or also known as "The Rickshaw" is exactly the example of quality filmmaking that I wouldn't expect from Vietnam. Perhaps it is a bit purposefully harsh at times, but it certainly adds to the result, even though you may feel like you've seen something similar. But definitely not from Vietnam.
