Sinopsis(1)
Not everyone receives an invitation from the famous Japanese animation studio Ghibli to make a film. Michael Dudok de Wit, known from his Oscar-winning animated short Father and Daughter, did. This portrait follows him during this complex creative venture. He is a perfectionist used to making his animation films single-handedly. But The Red Turtle, his first feature-length film, which won an award in Cannes, was made with a large team of animators. Gradually, this documentary reveals why it was so important for Dudok de Wit to tell this story. (Nederlands Film Festival)
