Un periodista británico que intenta entrevistar a Edgar Allan Poe durante la visita que el escritor americano hace a Londres termina liado en una curiosa apuesta. Un noble llamado Lord Blackwood le desafía a pasar esa noche (la de difuntos) en una de sus propiedades: una mansión supuestamente embrujada. De la que, por cierto, no ha salido vivo ninguno de los que, con anterioridad, han intentado hacer lo mismo. Como es natural, el periodista acepta el reto. (Filmin)

A naive black and white little horror movie with a nice atmosphere, but the silliness and naivete of the protagonists are more than I’m willing to accept.

"Danza Macabra" is a very pleasant surprise for me, as I did not expect the film to have such an impact on me. It uses simple tools (darkness, sounds, unexpected appearances, and ultimately violence), but thanks to their approach, the film doesn't shy away from adding a touch of realism or even naturalism. As a result, it is a very high-quality film that, even after fifty years, still captures the enchantment of gothic horror.
