Christmas Eve. An avalanche blocks the Orient Express in the heart of an isolated village in the mountains of northern Italy. The passengers are put up at the inn and in spare rooms. Spending two days with these travellers gives Béatrice and Giovanni, two" children of the village," a glimpse of what it's like to live "another life," their dream life, up until then inspired by the regular passing of the luxurious train.
