The setting is Hong Kong, 1967, and the British territory is in the grip of the most fierce riots in its history. In this turbulent time, an offbeat love affair develops between two neighbors. Maggie (Maggie Cheung) is an aspiring actress and social climber. Kenny (Kenny Bee) is an unlicensed cab driver and rich-woman's boy toy.
