Dobrodružství kriminalistiky (1989)

inglés It’s been thirty years since the first season of this series was filmed, and even after all those years, it doesn't cease to be entertaining. The first season clearly stands out, the others no longer offered such a perfect interplay of investigation and scientific progress, but the acting performances of the cast in the individual episodes were still great. I found “The Century of the Detective” by Thorwald truly fascinating and the first season was clearly based on it. Later seasons were no longer inspired by the book, and you can really tell. ()

Série 1 (1989) (S01)

inglés The first season had its flaws. I would find some in each episode if I wanted to look for them, but I don't feel like looking. It was produced in 1989, and the style corresponds to that, yet I loved the whole season. ()

Stopa (1989) (S01E01)

inglés A thirty-year-old matter, and I still look at it as good as when it aired on television premiere. Throughout the entire episode, the creators deserved a better four-star rating because it had a decent pace and action, and I actually liked the whole way Vidocq's story was processed. And the fifth piece goes to Boris Rösner, who surpassed all the French versions of François Vidocq and even outdid Vincent Cassel. ()

Jed (1989) (S01E02)

inglés The second episode was completely different in its approach compared to the first one, but what was lacking in pace and action, was perfectly compensated by Mr. Viktor Preiss and Ladislav Frej, who turned the whole trial into a show for the two performers. I had a great time. ()

Bertillonáž (1989) (S01E03)

inglés The episode describing bertillonage always seemed somewhat different to me. Even in the book, this passage didn't appeal to me too much, and the television adaptation didn't improve my impression either. However, I must honestly admit that the mistake is clearly on my side because I have always been obsessed with murders and here I didn't get what I wanted (instead of investigating, they were measuring). I also had the impression that the creators were pushing it too much into a humorous level. ()

Otisk (1989) (S01E04)

inglés The story of the fourth episode was very good, I really liked its execution, unlike the previous episode, there was constant detective work here, so I was very satisfied, and yet I didn't add the fifth piece. Unlike the European episodes, I didn't like Czech actors in the roles of Americans. Well, I didn't like... When Steve first appeared on the screen, I couldn't help but laugh, and I kept laughing like that until the end. Pavel Zedníček in a stetson is just funny. ()

Střela (1989) (S01E05)

inglés It was beautifully visible here how important the right casting is. While Pavel Zedníček was unequivocally funny in the previous episode, I had no problem believing Hana Maciuchová as the English estate owner, and Petr Čepek seemed to have been born for characterless roles. Moreover, the story worked as a typical detective story, so there was no reason to lower the rating. ()

Krev (1989) (S01E06)

inglés The sixth episode has been one of my favorites for a long time. Its plot takes place in our country (even though back then it was actually in theirs), and despite all the humorous elements, I still felt that unpleasant, oppressive atmosphere that accompanied the investigation. Interestingly, apart from sheep, not a single corpse appeared in this episode. ()

Rekonstrukce (1989) (S01E07)

inglés If it weren't for both incredibly annoying announcers, I would rate it five stars again because the case is very interesting and the creators handled it to my satisfaction. But I really didn't understand why they incorporated those two disruptive elements into the plot. ()

Tým (1989) (S01E08)

inglés Well thought-out finale of the first season. What the viewer has seen in individual episodes so far came together in one episode and I must admit that the creators of the series succeeded in doing so. Apparently, due to the influence of German collaborators, the rise of the Nazis to power did not manifest itself in any way, and KriPo appeared to be a normal police force (which it mostly was, but...). ()

Série 2 (1990) (S02)

inglés The second season came two years after the first one. Although it managed to keep a considerable amount of the original quality, I still think it was slightly weaker. It was saved by the greatly entertaining final two episodes. On the other hand, three out of eight episodes turned out to be slightly disappointing. ()

Písmo (1990) (S02E01)

inglés The first episode of the second season wasn't bad, but it didn't quite reach the five-star quality for me. Nevertheless, I added that fifth piece because the creators gave me a very vivid excursion into the roots of denunciation movements like MeToo. I had to appreciate that. ()

První detektivní sbor (1990) (S02E02)

inglés Life in England must have been quite an adrenaline-tinged experience at the time (probably still is), when a person leaving their home didn't know if they would soon be randomly accused of any crime. After two episodes, however, I cannot shake the feeling that the first season was indeed better. ()

Modus operandi (1990) (S02E03)

inglés This time, the weaker rating is not due to the story being set in the United States, because funny Steve was not present here, but I had the impression that the creators did not focus too much on police work, rather it seemed like they focused on fireworks. The investigator was scared and I was not entertained much either. ()

Antropologie (1990) (S02E04)

inglés The fourth episode suited me much more than the previous hesitant episode. True, the Emcke couple behaved really strangely, but on the other hand, after seeing German comedies and German porn, their actions don't really surprise me. Well, different country... ()

Krevní skupina (1990) (S02E05)

inglés The Soviet episode didn't please me too much, it turned out for me similarly as the American episodes. The actors did indeed wear their uniforms diligently, but I didn't quite believe it all. The approach of the Soviet militiamen seemed quite soft to me, and although the story was quite interesting, the ending felt terribly fake. ()

Mechanoskopie (1990) (S02E06)

inglés I had quite a problem with the sixth episode. I was really bothered by the fact that the creators approached it as a comedy. Although it is true that it worked excellently as a comedy, and the casting was great as well, I expected something completely different from this series. Here, I had the impression that when it comes to a Czech episode, it must be funny like in Švejk. ()

Identifikační kresba (1990) (S02E07)

inglés Excellent episode, in which the question of who is who is solved (which Professor Fiedler from Vienna would surely translate as a train is a train), and it shows that not all counts are the same. I really enjoyed the search for the true identity, and I also found satisfaction in seeing the insurance agents sweat, because I don't like them. ()

Paprsek (1990) (S02E08)

inglés As I have already mentioned before, I enjoy episodes the most in which murders are solved (I must be some kind of weirdo), the seventh and eighth episodes were apparently exceptions that prove the rule. The case of the Dutch painter entertained me the most from the entire second season and I was quite annoyed that he had to serve time for it. This was funny and instructive in its own way. ()

Série 3 (1991) (S03)

inglés The third season was similarly unbalanced as the second one. There were great episodes again, but there were also considerably weaker ones, which affected the final rating. I certainly don’t think watching the third season was a waste of time, though, unlike other shows. ()
