Tristan, un chico de 16 años, huye con su novia. La madre de Tristan, Christine, intenta encontrarlo por todos los medios posibles. Ante la pasividad de la Policía y de su marido, Paul, Christine llama a un antiguo amante de su juventud para solicitar su ayuda. Se trata de Jean Lucas, un periodista corpulento y decidido. Para convencerlo, Christine le dice que Tristan es hijo suyo. Lucas, sin embargo, rechaza buscar al muchacho. La mujer prueba suerte entonces con otro exnovio, François Pignon, un respetable profesor, tímido y con tendencias suicidas. Nuevamente, dice a Pignon que es el padre del joven. François acepta el encargo y se pone en marcha tras el rastro de Tristan, pero Lucas se arrepiente de su decisión y también comienza la búsqueda. Ambos coinciden en sus pesquisas e intentan averiguar el paradero de Tristan sin saber que se trata del mismo chico. (Procines S.A.)

Desafortunadamente, Pierre Richard no pudo confirmar mi opinión por segunda vez de que es un comediante de segunda categoría (a lo sumo). Dépardieu es excelente. Y en cuanto a la película "Kleci bláznů", en mi opinión, es otro caso en el que el remake estadounidense es más divertido y de mejor calidad.

What would we ever do if the 1970s and 1980s French movie era didn’t exist, back when they used to alternate between great comedies and not less great crime investigation flicks? I mean, everyone would surely mourn for those. The nicest thing about it is the fact that the movies still bring people joy, even to this day, thirty years after they were filmed in France. And that’s truly beautiful.

The second collaboration between Pierre Richard, Gérard Depardieu and Francis Veber isn't as goofy as my beloved La Chevre, but fortunately that doesn't mean it isn't funny. Or that it's boring. On the contrary, I like the way Veber decided not to build on what he did so well in La Chevre, but rather to take an almost completely different path... And how he succeeded again.
