Sinopsis(1)

The film is a typical "outlaw-eastern", depicting the last days of the world of the outlaws of Transdanubian Hungary, living before the Compromise with Austria, with the help of contemporary newspapers and ethnographic research. Gelencsér Jóska and his band is fired with poverty and a lust for revenge. During one of their raids, Jóska recognises and kills the feudal administrator of Marcali, who had his brother executed. Soromfai, the second chief of the band, hoping for mercy, helps the chief district administrator Hegyessy, a one-time freedom-fighter, catch Gelencsér. The suspicious band-leader loses and kills his own men. The gendar-meries raid their hiding place and massacre the members of the band. Gelencsér is carried off, while Soromfai is shot dead by his own wife, the intellectual source of repeated betrayals. (texto oficial de la distribuidora)
