A principios del siglo XXI, la robótica ha progresado considerablemente. La familia Martin puede ahora permitirse comprar un robot doméstico, el NDR-114, diseñado para efectuar todas las tareas del hogar. Los niños reaccionan cada uno de una forma diferente ante la presencia del recién llegado, llamado Andrew. Grace, la mayor, lo ve como una lata de conservas y le ordena saltar desde el primer piso. A pretty good romance, but for the money it cost, I would have expected something much better.

I liked this movie from the first time I saw it, several years ago, and nothing has changed about it even after all these years. The storyline is greatly simplified and the big leaps result in some emotional scenes not sounding as good or on the contrary, sounding too deliberate, but it's still a wonderful example of what love and human/robot stubbornness can look like. Should people be the ones deciding who is a human? Do they even have the competence for that?
