Predictable, and also a bit silly. It spins its wheels a lot, and sometimes you feel like nothing is happening, but still, I think it fulfilled its purpose and the viewer gets the parasite they expect. On the special effects side of things, it's nice to see that Band was going for classic special effects from the start, which is great.
