inglés I'm very glad I waited until after Luhrmann to make a definitive projection. This is the 1920s, conditioned by the aesthetics of the 1970s, and for some reason, it was most important for Clayton to emphasize setting the story in the summer of 1922. Here, everyone is dewy, sweaty, greasy, and completely exhausted by the heat most of the time. Nevertheless, it's rather nice to wander around the Gatsby mansion, listen to that stereotypical Irvine Berling selection, and go on to the next place. The anachronism is not only evident in the hairstyles and make-up, but some of the locations and cars are also somewhat ahead of their time, whether within the 1920s or going much further. However, recognizing the iconic roles of Redford and Farrow is worthwhile. ()

inglés The film has excellent cast. Robert Redford plays Gatsby, Mia Farrow portrays his beloved Daisy in her own beautiful and peculiar way, Bruce Dern plays Tom Buchanan, her husband, who was born for negative roles. However, Jack Clayton, who directed the great horror film "The Innocents", couldn't bring out the right elements from the story. His "Great Gatsby" is boring, at times it stands still and fails to dazzle, which was achieved in Luhrman's film. Its strength lies in the fact that the film has a social subtext accompanied by good acting performances. However, in the end, it is still not a film worthy of its great source material.
