Después de probar suerte con un desesperanzado compositor -Dave Seville- tres ardillas muy peculiares, Alvin, Simon y Theodore, deciden hacer de la casa de Dave la suya propia. Enseguida las ardillas se dan cuenta de la necesidad de convencer a Dave de que las deje vivir en su casa para demostrarle que no sólo pueden andar como una persona... ¡sino que pueden cantar! No tardarán en revelarse como la sensación musical del momento, mientras Dave se convierte en algo más que en su compositor; en su padre. Los problemas comienzan cuando las ardillas comienzan a darse cuenta de su éxito y se revelan contra Dave. It is a prototype of an American family spectacle for the widest popular layers, and therefore, in terms of the script written and acted out to correspond to the taste of the typical mass audience. If it only stayed with plush chipmunks, it would be somewhat kitschy, but still bearable entertainment within the framework of a children's movie, but busty actresses and elegant hunks clearly intended for adult accompaniment appear there, which is expected to have the taste and intellectual outlook of a five-year-old child. This kind of mass production simply passes me by. Overall impression: 15%.

The new generation of children is not going to care about the ancient roots of these cartoons and will greedily and contentedly consume only what is fashionable today. Nothing more, nothing less.

Even though I had problems with Jason Lee at the beginning, which is why I wanted to see this movie - and I still had that problem even during the second viewing - it always gets me in the end and I quite enjoy this singing trio. Plus, Cameron Richardson also played a role in it, and I've just liked her as an actress ever since I saw her in "House".
