Sinopsis(1)
A punto de finalizar la Guerra de Secesión, un grupo de unionistas, liderados por el sádico capitán Terrill, asesina a la familia de un granjero llamado Joseph Wales (Clint Eastwood). Movido por el odio y el deseo de venganza, se une a un grupo de rebeldes. Poco después, finaliza la contienda, el ejército de la Unión ofrece la amnistía a todas las guerrillas y sus compañeros aceptan. Clint Eastwood demonstrates how close the western genre was to him, and how much he tuned into it. He managed to create a character that mostly aligns with the classic spaghetti western archetype but also overall shifts elsewhere, becoming something different, something new. The finale isn't in line with the classic tone of a western, and it's as if the genre itself is changing along with the character of Wales.
