Imaginaos la infancia de John Lennon... Liverpool, 1955: un quinceañero inteligente y rebelde, sediento de vida. Una familia en la que abundan los secretos, con dos mujeres enfrentadas respecto al futuro de este chico, John Lennon: Mimi, la tía severa que lo ha criado, y Julia, su madre llena de vitalidad. Impulsado por su deseo de tener una familia normal, John se refugia en el nuevo y excitante mundo del rock, donde su genio inmaduro encuentra su alma gemela en el adolescente Paul McCartney. Pero justamente cuando John está a punto de empezar una nueva vida, sufre una trágica pérdida.
