He was the leading personality of Polish anti-Nazi resistance, but after the WWII he became the victim of Communist political trials and was executed in 1953. This historical film depicts the last years in the life of general Fieldorf, nicknamed "Nil". The film is a memento of the gruesome practices of political trials. (Summer Film School)

The Polish had started to feel confident enough to start making historical biographical stories; and they’re great at it. But with General Nil, I had a bit of an issue with the flashbacks and flashfowards and so I felt quite lost. But in the end, I got the point of it all and I was even a bit surprised. Well, I wasn’t, I was just assured that the 1950s were disgusting not only in the Czech Republic, but also in Poland.
