Sinopsis(1)

Ip Man nace en Foshan, al sur de China, en el seno de una familia acomodada. La pasión que siente por el estilo Wing Chun le lleva a menudo al Pabellón de Oro, un elegante burdel donde se reúnen los maestros de Kung Fu. El gran maestro Gong Baosen llega a Foshan invitado a una ceremonia ante su inminente retiro. Su hija, heredera de la famosa y letal técnica de las "64 manos", le acompaña en el viaje que le llevará a conocer a Ip Man ¿Quién se enfrentará al viejo Maestro? La ocupación japonesa del noreste de China motiva una traición que sacude el mundo del maestro Gong y hace que su hija Gong Er tome una decisión que cambiará el curso de su vida. A pesar de haber sido testigo de los horrores de la invasión japonesa de Foshan, Ip Man no se rinde ante las dificultades.
