¿Cuántas veces lo habremos visto? La historia de un secuestrador de niños, de un asesino en serie, de aquel que permanece en la sombra, al acecho. Este documental recupera la leyenda de Cropsey, un cuento macabro sobre un coco que los mayores de Staten Island se inventaron para que los pequeños no se metieran en líos y se quedaran quietitos en sus casas. Un personaje ficticio que cobró vida cuando, a principios de los años ochenta, empezaron a desaparecer niños de verdad. Sí, lo hemos visto muchas veces, pero nunca fue tan real. Conflicting, going to extremes as if the authors had no idea where the search would take them. Which may be true, but in this case, the guys in editing room should put it together. But it is not the case. Especially the analogy that introduces it all, with the kind of spooky urban legend and the Blairwitch segment from the ruins, is clearly pointless and is at the expense of the space around the circumstances leading to the closure of that hospital. On the other hand, the material itself, the twists and turns, the prejudices, and the still unexplained course of the case, are so stimulating and disturbing that it will absorb you. That is for sure.
