Camelot (2011)

inglés Maybe it's because I don't follow the current TV series scene much and therefore have nothing to compare it to, but I liked Camelot on the whole. Only I would change the title to Morgan, because the character played by the (in all aspects) fantastic Eva Green is the main focus here. She plays it like an unpredictable chameleon, she has no problem slitting someone's throat one moment and a few minutes later to flatter another with a perfectly innocent and believable smile, she schemes, she charms to the last of her strength, she is exhausted and full of determination, pumped into her body by an old injustice... And the viewer feels it all directly. But the other characters were also good. Arthur could have been more sympathetic (Steve Buscemi could have played the older version of him in peace), but Merlin as a tough schemer is not bad, Guinevere is beautiful, Arthur's knights/bodyguards have no issues with violence, Sybil the nun is disgusting... And the first two episodes starred my favorite James Purefoy, and I'm sad he didn't stick around longer. As far as the story is concerned, the writers came up with a lot of good ideas reviving the classic legend (I liked The Sword and Crown and the Lady of the Lake episodes the most), it's just a pity that at the end of the series the plot was somehow diluted and the battle, for which the creators obviously lacked money, was given so much space. Three and a half. ()
