Alps

Las Alpes son probablemente la película menos accesible para el público de Yorgos Lanthimos y también me llevó tiempo sumergirme en la trama. Muchas escenas extrañas, comportamiento bizarro de todos los personajes y conexiones confusas son extraordinariamente desconcertantes. Yorgos Lanthimos certainly brings a certain refreshment to world cinema with his work. His films by no means suffer from a lack of originality, but they sometimes find their way to the viewer in a rather convoluted way. That's exactly how I feel about Alps. The theme is very novel, inviting us to think about how we actually live, and what is important to us... The reporting itself, however, did not quite sit right with me. Maybe because for a long time I was unable to understand what it was all about. I was also quite irritated by the machine-learned dialogue when trying to identify with a recently deceased person. I'm leaning toward three stars for the film’s imaginative nature, although I had originally intended to only give two. (55%) (26.05.2020)
