Naples, 1973. Nine-year-old Peppino has chaotic family and an older cousin, Gennaro, who thinks he is Superman. Peppino splits his time between the colorful world of his young aunt Titina and uncle Salvatore with their neighborhood dances, basement parties and women's collectives, and an uncomfortable home life where his father tries to entertain him with pet fleas and his mother has withdrawn into a mysterious silence. But when Gennaro dies, Peppino's imagination rewrites reality and brings him back to life - Gennaro becomes the superhero he always claimed to be. It’s a typical crazy Italian comedy, which is again more drama rather than a comedy, and everything funny is taken care of by nutjobs, whom there are plenty of. Except for the mother, who is going through quite a hell, be it in her own head or in her relationships with the people around her. Nevertheless, the reviewer Zazie is right. This movie shows everything that makes Italy what it is. Nothing more and nothing less.
