Before "The Silence of the Lambs", before "Red Dragon", Dr. Hannibal Lecter was a brilliant psychiatrist in the employ of the FBI. His task: to help an unusually gifted criminal profiler, Will Graham, who is haunted by his ability to see into the minds of serial killers.
After a particularly grueling case hunting a serial killer known as the Minnesota Shrike, Will Graham (Hugh Dancy) threatens to walk away. Jack Crawford (Laurence Fishburne), the head of the FBI's Behavioral Science Unit, desperately needs Will on his team to break the tough cases, so he enlists Dr. Hannibal Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen) to ensure Will's mental well-being. Unbeknownst to Will, Hannibal also has a particular insight into these horrible crimes and the psychopaths who commit them. As Will hunts down brutal killers, he is unknowingly sitting across from the most gifted killer of them all. It is in this cat and mouse game each week that we will begin to see a relationship grow between Will and Hannibal – two men who have more in common than anyone could know. Season 1 (2013) (S01)
So far, I give 100% to Mads, but the others I am more or less uninterested in. However, I’m giving it a chance (because a cannibal as smooth as this is simply delicious). It gets progressively more and more likable, especially Abigail and her relationship with Hannibal... However, leaving out the 4th episode was idiotic, and to talk at the same time about the show ending early as well as there being plans for up to a seventh season is, at the very least, worrisome. But I'm always satisfied when Hannibal cooks and consumes classical music. Gillian Anderson is absolutely loveable. It's also nice to see guest stars like Eddie, Gina Torres, or Lance. The grand finale includes an excellent cliffhanger, great music, and Hannibal walking through a set of shadows. Yummy!

Season 3 (2015) (S03)
Season 3 is something a little different again, and in the style of Harris, it's mostly a polished affair. It features wonderful female characters played by Gillian Anderson and Gina Torres. The "case of the week" has disappeared and apparently, that's the main reason for the show's cancellation on its parent station. However, in the second half, Red Dragon is coming and a lot can still change. Yes, Rutina Wesley arrives as the final aid for the acting. The drama culminates and the bromance between Hannibal and Will is complete. It was sweet, but it was a lot.
