16-year-old Lena lives with her mother on a suburban estate. The area's limited, bourgeois atmosphere is a real trial to the highly sensitive, creative young woman, especially as she no longer gets on so well with her old friend Nicole. Things seem to be taking a turn for the better when Lena finds a soulmate in Tim, the new boy in her class, and the two get closer – much to the displeasure of Nicole who is now best friends with cool but manipulative Stella. When Lena sees Nicole and Tim kissing, she breaks off contact with her former friends, not knowing that Stella set up the kiss. Deeply disappointed and miserable, Lena only confides in her new chat friend, Noah.
