Kris es atacada una noche por un ladrón que le anula la personalidad mediante un gusano con extrañas propiedades. La joven sigue todas las instrucciones que el ladrón le da. Tras la extracción de las hipnóticas larvas, Kris se despierta y se encuentra con su vida totalmente destruida. Ha perdido su trabajo y está arruinada.
