The Americans

An awesome season. Everything worked perfectly, the writing was excellent, the whole season maintained a great atmosphere and suspense, and I looked forward to each new episode. If I were to single out a performance, it would surely be Alison Wright. Martha Hanson gets better and better with each episode. I know I'm supposed to be caught in an inner struggle since I like Phillip and Elizabeth who are the main bad guys, but being who I am, I can’t be bothered by that and root for them anyway. An obvious villain and slimeball for me is Pastor Tim. (15.10.2017)

As the second season ended so well, the third season began. The creators did not hesitate this time and started the third season with a proper action. They also sufficiently addressed unresolved issues from previous series and relationships between individual characters, and I had a good time. So, satisfaction. (11.10.2017)

The second episode was definitely calmer, but it had something to it. The atmosphere in the scene with packing the suitcase was downright chilling, and the situation around Paige is causing division within the team. Despite the absence of action compared to the first episode, the creators managed to maintain a decent amount of tension. (11.10.2017)

Very well made part. The third episode defines two words for me: atmosphere and tension, both of which were perfect. I think I can handle quite a lot on the screen, and in life as well, but I admit that I had very mixed feelings about the dentist scene. (12.10.2017)

Things are happening, I have already rated five episodes of the third season with five stars. If it continues like this, even someone as poor in natural sciences and mathematics as me can fairly smoothly calculate the average grade for this series. The creators are managing to maintain the right level of tension and a dense atmosphere. I'm having a great time. (13.10.2017)

Hmmm, well now it's really strange, again I don't have anything to criticize, maybe I could find something, but I enjoy the series so much that I simply don't want to. The sixth episode practically passed without any action scenes, but the plot was so interesting that I didn't care. (13.10.2017)

Another excellent episode. The creators saved the action for the end, but it made it even more exciting. What seems more important to me is that the passages without action work brilliantly. The dialogues are so well-written that every sentence is interesting, and that's just luxurious. (13.10.2017)

I have once again predictably rated it with full marks. I know, it's a bit embarrassing, but I really enjoy it. Additionally, what led me to this rating was not the final resolution of the Apartheid collaborators, but the still great atmosphere that lingers over the investigation of the wiretap in Agent Gaad's office and the increasingly remarkable performance by Alison Wright. And here it is again. In the ninth episode, basically nothing revolutionary happens, yet I didn't find a single boring moment in it. Very well written episode, I'm sure a tanker truck with 11,000 liters and the word pathos written on it could be added to the scene with Elizabeth and the older lady, but the creators managed to do without such nonsense and thanks to that, I was slightly chilled at times. How could I lower the rating when such a quality series gained a completely new momentum by a single admission? It is once again as I have written several times, minimal action but a lot of tension and great atmosphere. The screenwriters deserve applause, the episodes of the third season set the bar very high. Again, there was no reason to break the already traditional evaluation of episodes from the third season. I would say that after introducing Paige to their true identity, Phillip and Elizabeth have to look forward to any difficult task like a child looks forward to a lollipop. Only when they get out of their home. Once again, I had a great time, the action at the hotel was a perfect example of manipulative victory. (15.10.2017)

I don't even know if I have ever rated every episode of one season of any series with the maximum number of stars, I don't think so, but it's definitely a deserved rating. A lot happened in one episode, even though there were no groundbreaking events, all of them will clearly have a big impact on the future storyline, the conclusion itself was a dirty move from the creators, to wait for a year after this... I have nothing but praise for Season 4. Granted, the previous season was a little better, but this one had a lot going for it too. The suspense and great atmosphere were still there. I was also pleased with Paige getting more screen time. Her emotional confusion spices up the plot. On the other hand, I'm sorry that some characters I've come to like have disappeared and, as the final episode hinted, more of them will follow suit. Anyway, I can’t wait for Season 5. (17.10.2017)

Well, the episode was good, but something was missing for me to be completely happy, but I can't say what. This episode simply didn't have the impact I expected after the previous season. When I think about it, it's probably because of the slightly slower pace. Anyway, I expect more from the next episodes, because the topic of biological weapons has great potential. (15.10.2017)

And it's done, I'm satisfied, the series is back on track. Thanks to Paige and Vochřivec, the atmosphere has really thickened, so keep acting like agents of a hostile power without losing your nerves. I joyfully rub my hands, things are going well, they are going well. The creators this time unleashed two major crises in one episode, and it seemed that the family-church one would be definitely worse, but then... Once again, I enjoyed an extremely interesting episode from beginning to end, and William's reaction during the meeting in the park almost tore my eardrum. (15.10.2017)

In the seventh episode, all efforts are directed towards achieving a single goal on one side, while the other side tries to thwart these efforts. In my opinion, Alison Wright as Martha stole this episode for herself and played absolutely brilliantly. Thanks to her, I thoroughly enjoyed the episode. Furthermore, I found an important lesson in the plot: if you approach a conversation armed not only with convincing arguments but also with a boxer, you must definitely win the debate. (16.10.2017)

I had to give the eighth part a full number of stars, even though I lost my favorite character. Many important matters took place, which will have an impact on the further development, and interesting interactions between individual characters occurred. Gabriel scared me at the end with a seven-month break, but I was relieved when the creators squeezed it into a few seconds, even David Copperfield couldn't have done it better. (16.10.2017)

It wasn't a bad episode, but it wasn't as eventful as I'm used to. The creators evidently spoiled me too much, so now I'm lowering the rating, even though William's reaction to Phillip's vacation amused me again. Nevertheless, I expect much more action and tension in the next episode from the plot development. (16.10.2017)

I didn't experience any crazy actions, but the atmosphere was intense again and the tension pleasantly increased. As I observe it, the fourth season treats the established characters quite cruelly, I'm curious to see how far the creators will let the situation go, so that we won't be missing them. (16.10.2017)
