Alan, un sempiterno apostador en las carreras de caballos, ha de escapar de la persecución de la banda de Frisco Joe, a quien ha birlado quince mil dólares...que perdió al equivocarse de caballo ganador. En su huida, Alan se cuela de polizón en el pequeño barco de Charlie, un navegante solitario que hace travesías de propaganda de la Mermelada Puffin. Alan lleva consigo un plano de cierta isla donde su tío Brandy, enfermo de meningitis, asegura que hay un gran tesoro escondido. Al llegar a la isla de Pongo-Pongo, donde según su tío Brandy se encuentra el tesoro, Alan y Charlie han de hacer frente a multitud de peripecias, ya que en el lugar indicado en el mapa es un viejo puerto militar defendido por Kamasuka, un soldado japonés que no se ha enterado todavía de que ha terminado la II Guerra Mundial. An excellent comedy that doesn't pretend to be anything great or intelligent, but importantly, maintains the highest level of entertainment throughout. The great Hill and Spencer once again excel in a story set on a small island inhabited by quirky natives and offer the viewer countless imaginative brawls and great gags. For me, it's simply the perfect film to fill a drizzly Sunday afternoon, and all those who gave it less than three stars must have been having a very bad day when they watched it.

Another one of those comedies by the duo Bud Spencer and Terence Hill that got me with its banality but also absurdity of everything that happens. Actually, it's nothing more than a treasure hunt on a deserted island, but there are enough ideas here to keep you entertained the whole time. And I was entertained the whole time. Although, of course, I have a weakness for the duo.
