Como la ley ha sido incapaz de echar a los jugadores y corredores de apuestas de Miami, que están bajo el liderazgo de Parapolis el Griego, el almirante O'Connor declara la guerra contra el juego, teniendo a Johnny Firpo como su mejor arma. Johnny tiene un medio hermano, Charlie, ahora camionero, pero antiguo jugador que trabajaba para Parapolis. Su padre, Mike, jugador de cartas abandonó a los chicos y a sus madres, pero no antes de haber enseñado a Charlie todos sus trucos de juego. Johnny le pide ayuda, pero éste no quiere volver al mundo del juego. Johnny le engaña diciéndole que Mike se está quedando ciego y necesita una costosa operación, y ¿qué mejor que ganar el dinero a través del juego? Charlie enseña a Johnny los trucos que conoce de juego y Puppa, una atractiva joven, enamorada de Johnny también decide ayudarle contándole las operaciones de Parapolis. ¿Los hermanos desarticularán la banda de apostadores clandestinos? Odds and Evens is bollocks, but it has its charm and it doesn’t let me get bored. And Terence and Bud are so likeable.

This is one of those Spencer-Hill pieces that, if it were shorter, would be a lot better. In this way, the number of really funny moments (and there are plenty) is almost equaled by the number of unnecessary and moments often bordering on awkward, in which not much interesting happens. Odds and Evens has always been all about the truck theft (and the waking of the wanderer), the perfect ice cream scene and the final battle with the double grounding of the poor Greek gambler, which are really great moments. It is also worth mentioning that this time we hear Bud Spencer with unique dubbing by the grumpy Josef Větrovec: "Yes. When I'm asleep and someone suddenly wakes me up, I always cry. Next. When I cry, I get angry. And when I get angry, I have to get up. And when I get up, I get mad, and when I get mad... I then have to relax." - "If you didn't cry, you'd have an easier time of it.

This will definitely not be my favorite film with the Italian duo, but on the other hand, it is still a good entertainment. It's sometimes so crazy that you just have to laugh. And even though the characters don't seem to like each other at first glance, it's nothing new and you still know that it will end well for both of them and they will eventually give each other a high five or something like that.
