At first glance, it seems like a nice family film, but upon reflection, it's really nothing more than a classic retelling of Spider-Man's origin story, except with the difference that the boy here is actually young and doesn't have spider abilities but ant abilities, which isn't a huge novelty either. The plot is standard comic book fare, offering nothing new, and it’s even softer.
