Sinopsis(1)

Rachel, a rookie cop, is about to begin her first night shift in a neglected police station in a Scottish, backwater town. The kind of place where the tide has gone out and stranded a motley bunch of the aimless, the forgotten, the bitter-and-twisted who all think that, really, they deserve to be somewhere else. They all think they're there by accident and that, with a little luck, life is going to get better. Wrong, on both counts. Six is about to arrive - and All Hell Will Break Loose. inglés First a lot of blather and then a lot of bullshitting. Let Us Prey has strong potential to be a fine horror flick, but despite its effective form, basic concept and Pollyanna in the lead role, the result is surprisingly mediocre and forgettable. This is partly due to the fact that the passages that are seemingly intended to be mystical and mysterious conflict with the shocking horror and action-packed splatter. Though its likable as a cheesy genre flick, it lacks the spark to take the precision craftsmanship on display here to a higher level. ()

inglés While watching I wasn’t sure whether I was enjoying the film or not. It has nice visuals, a pretty good concept and quality gore going on for it. The problem is the music: the main score is fine, yes, thumbs up for it, but the creators push other “scary” melodies way too often, even in scenes that would actually be more effective without any music, sometimes it feels ridiculous, in fact. Another problem are the characters, who are incredibly unlikeable. This, of course, can be justified given the concept, but the reward (the horror action) comes too late for the viewer to not become irritated by them. At the beginning they speak a lot, then hints of relatively brutal violence start showing up, reaching their peak with the appearance of the maniac with the shotgun from the poster. At some point, the overall impression from the film the leant towards the good. ()

inglés The film "Let Us Prey" is a quite pleasant surprise that came to us from the British Isles and Ireland. It is a film that is quite imaginative in its execution, especially within the realm of gore, which is unexpectedly good and there is plenty of it. This is an element that I really liked and it brings the film to life even more. If you don't want anything demanding but rather enjoy a pleasantly dark horror entertainment, the film "Let Us Prey" will offer you just that. ()
