Cake ofreció a Jennifer Anniston una excelente oportunidad como actriz y ella la aprovechó al cien por cien. Su mejor actuación de su carrera, que demuestra que además de papeles cómicos también puede interpretar en un tono más serio. Un drama íntimo y psicológico que no abruma con acción, giros argumentales o suspense, sino que explora la vida de personas que han sufrido tragedias personales con las que no tienen por qué lidiar hasta el final de sus vidas. Aunque personalmente hubiera agradecido un poco más de thriller, suspense y algún giro argumental, respeto que los creadores lo mantuvieran en un tono civilizado y tranquilo. Después de mucho tiempo volví a ver a Sam Worthington, pareciera que desapareció de la superficie del cine. (01.06.2015)

I found myself deeply connecting with the main character's emotions, even though our diagnoses may differ; we cripples just understand each other :-) Jennifer Aniston delivered a wonderful performance. Unlike many viewers, I was thoroughly entertained throughout the entire film, as much as I would be watching an action-packed movie. The creators managed to (quite surprisingly for me) avoid melodrama and accurately captured the essence of us cripples – we may lack many things, but our biting sarcasm and, for the luckier ones among us, cynicism, are always intact. / Lesson learned: Don't rely too much on pills; sometimes, a chat with a possum is all you need. If only the film wasn't narrated so mysteriously the whole time, as if there is some great revelation waiting for you at the end, I would give it a much higher rating, but its inconsistency leaves me with no other option. The acting is good, but it needs to stop playing something that isn't actually there for the audience. (31.01.2015)
